About Little village yoga

Little Village Yoga is run by Yoga Alliance registered teacher Caroline Hickman.

I run group yoga classes in and around Welton in Daventry, as well as small group and bespoke private classes on demand. All group classes are open to everyone, whatever your experience with yoga. Private classes are designed for you and your specific needs and can address your overall wellbeing or target a particular area of concern.

The aim of Little Village Yoga is to build a passionate yoga community and share the joy and benefits of yoga, creating room for growth and building strength and resilience both on and off the mat.

“Yoga begins with listening. When we listen, we are giving space to what is.” —Richard Freeman

HATHA YOGA

Meaning 'sun and moon' in Sanskrit, Hatha Yoga is the most commonly practiced type of yoga in the UK today. It involves breathwork, asanas (postures) and relaxation time.

VINYASA YOGA

A dynamic style of yoga designed to get your heart pumping. Poses are linked and the pace is faster than what you might find in Hatha, yet the poses are all similar.

OUTDOOR YOGA

Taking time to connect with nature is an important part of practicing yoga. As an outdoors woman at heart, I love taking classes outside when I can.

YOGA NIDRA

The art of deep rest, Yoga Nidra will guide you into a that magical place between awake and dreaming, allowing you to rest physically, mentally and emotionally.

What our students Say

Commonly Asked Questions

Yoga is about mindfully moving the body in line with the breath, paying attention to where we are at and focusing inwards. We’ll take some time to prepare for the class before moving through a series of shapes designed to strengthen, stretch and move your body. I’ll be your guide, offering suggestions and ideas, while you move to where feels right for you.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, a small blanket or throw and a bottle of water.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle in and go through any questions.

It’s best to wear light, comfortable clothing that isn’t too baggy. Leggings, jogging bottoms or fitted shorts and a fitted top or tee-shirt is ideal. Baggy t-shirts can ride up in some postures, so fitted clothes are best.
Yoga can be adapted to suit most injuries and conditions and in fact, is quite often recommended as a tool to assist in recovery. We’ll work together to find props and modifications to assist you through your yoga practice. From using chairs, foam bricks and the wall – we’ll make it work for you.
Yes ! You can still safely practice yoga while pregnant as long as you have no high risk factors and have the green light from your medical professional. I’d be delighted to welcome you into my class and we will modify the postures for your changing body. I have had three pregnancies and have practiced yoga throughout them all.
Yes! Yoga is non-competitive (even with yourself!) and open to everyone, whatever your shoe size. My classes are sociable, fun and offer you the opportunity to get to know your body and hopefully make some improvements on the way. Body and mind!
